Pacific Rim Sculptors (PRS) is a Chapter of the International Sculpture Center (publisher of Sculpture magazine,

PRS has members in the San Francisco Bay Area, along the West Coast, & elsewhere around the continent & globe.  

PRS's Mission is to:

    • Promote artistic excellence
    • Provide collective opportunities & resources for members
    • Foster development of young artists
    • Contribute to communities by increasing public awareness & appreciation of sculpture as an important art form.

    Join PRS members in Second Thursday visits to SFMOMA!

    If you want to visit the Museum with other PRS members, assemble by 4:30 PM near the elevators on the second floor near the large stairway leading up to the third floor.

    This is an informal event:

    • Participants can start earlier or later -- It is entirely up to you
    • Perhaps have dinner in the SFMOMA or nearby
    • Or check out public art or galleries nearby
    • Registration is optional, but can help attendees connect and make plans. 


    • SFMOMA charges admission, and special exhibitions have added ticket costs and require reservations; check with for tickets and details. The Museum closes at 8:00 PM on Thursdays.
    • Some PRS members may be SFMOMA members and have extra tickets, but these will be limited in number.

    Art Inspired by Travel showcases the works of artists who are inspired by travel. Traveling, whether locally or afar can be inspirational, memorable, and life-changing. Travel can foster cultural awareness, tolerance, and a deeper appreciation for the hidden beauty within our world. This is an open-call for sculptors of Pacific Rim to submit images of up to three artworks for consideration by juror & curator Robert Melton, organized by Pacific Rim Sculptors, a chapter of the International Sculpture Center.  

    Opening Reception: Friday, September 30, 2022, 4:30 - 8:30 pm

    The exhibition will take place from September 30, 2022 to February 17, 2023 at the renowned Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco. 

    ROBERT MELTON is the Outreach Coordinator / Curator for de Young College Arts Program, a freelance curator and community events art organizer. He is the founder and executive director for Nexus ArtReach Art Collective. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies and Art History and a Master's degree in Museum Studies with emphasis on curatorship and public programming from San Francisco State University. Melton has curated a variety of art exhibitions and events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area including the recent Sculpture of the Pacific Rim at the Commonwealth Club.
