Welcome New MemberPlease welcome our newest member to Pacific Rim Sculptors Judith Blankman! Judith’s introduction to sculpture began outdoors in a limestone quarry at Sarah Lawrence College in Provence, France in 1979. She received her BFA from San Jose State University in 1981 and MA and MFA degrees from San Francisco State University in 1986 and 1988. "I create spatial metaphors for human experience in installation works comprised of architecturally inspired structures. Interested in the psychology of space and a humanistic approach to art, I work with an instinctive approach, fired by impulse and intuition, to create a sense of relatedness both physical and psychological to the immediate surroundings." - Judith Blankman Judith Blankman, Coddled Child, 2023, wood, toy crib, paint, twine, egg coddling set, cotton balls, legally shredded US currency |
