PRS NEWS -- January 2025

Happy 2025 PRS Members & Community!

Sending out a BIG thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising campaign. We have exceeded our set goal and we couldn't have done it without all of you. Every donation will help us further our mission, arranging for more exhibitions, events and community outreach programs.

Already the board is planning lots of events and exhibitions in the coming months and we’re are looking forward to a great year.

We are welcoming a new board member, Sena Clara Creston, whose work you may have seen at last year’s Question of Balance exhibition at the Museum of Sonoma County. She is a professor of sculpture at Sonoma State U and joined the board in part to help us reach younger sculptors. Welcome Sena!

And- we are thanking Jeff Key for his years of service on the board, most recently as secretary. He is stepping down to spend more time in the studio and with his family. Thank you for your ideas and generosity, Jeff!

I hope to see you in a gallery or studio soon!

Welcome New Member

Please welcome our newest member to Pacific Rim Sculptors Judith Blankman!

Judith’s introduction to sculpture began outdoors in a limestone quarry at Sarah Lawrence College in Provence, France in 1979. She received her BFA from San Jose State University in 1981 and MA and MFA degrees from San Francisco State University in 1986 and 1988.

"I create spatial metaphors for human experience in installation works comprised of architecturally inspired structures. Interested in the psychology of space and a humanistic approach to art, I work with an instinctive approach, fired by impulse and intuition, to create a sense of relatedness both physical and psychological to the immediate surroundings." - Judith Blankman
