From your Events Committee:Last weekend’s Second Sunday Studio Visit at Splady Art Studios was a vibrant and informative gathering of creativity, conversation, and community. It was such a joy to connect with fellow PRS members and new friends as we explored the inspiring workspaces of Charles “Chuck” Splady and Alexander Yoshikawa. From in-depth conversations about process and tools to the warmth of shared curiosity, the afternoon was a true reminder of the power of artistic connection. Thank you to everyone who joined us—we’re already looking forward to the next one! Group photo at Splady Art Studio, April 2025. Photo by Tori Hermes |

Vicki GunterVicki Gunter is currently featured in the exhibition Let The Fur And Feathers Fly at the Epperson Gallery in Crockett, CA, on view from March 22–April 20, 2025. Her ceramic sculpture “BLOOM 4 ~ Allen’s Hummingbird Pollinating Bolander’s Lily” is part of her ongoing project BLOOM, which celebrates California native plants and their pollinators. This particular piece was inspired by a community vote in Crockett, where 50 native flowers were chosen for Vicki to sculpt. Artist Elizabeth Addison selected the Lilium bolanderi, a rare and vibrant bloom native to the Smith River—the only un-dammed river in California. Vicki sculpted both the flower and its pollinator, the Allen’s Hummingbird (Selasphorus sasin), at four times their natural size, capturing their beauty and ecological connection in stunning ceramic detail.
