Pacific Rim Sculptors in partnership with Siskiyou Arts Museum presents “Forms & Sequences”, a juried exhibition of contemporary sculpture by artists living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Sculpture has form, but that form often evolves over time in a sequence of shapes and ideas. Sometimes the sculptor captures that sequence within a single form, or creates a sequence of forms as an aggregate piece. Participating artists are asked to consider loosely, how “Forms & Sequences” relates to their work and forefront that in this juried show of contemporary sculpture. Sculptors may choose to focus on either, forms or sequences, or both. PRS is honored to have juror, Phil Linhares, retired Chief Curator of Art at the Oakland Museum of California. Phil served 43 years as a curator in the San Francisco Bay Area: Director of Exhibitions at the San Francisco Art Institute, 1967-77; Director of the Mills College Art Gallery (now museum), 1978-1989, Oakland Museum 1990-2011. He continues to organize occasional exhibitions for local non-profit galleries, the most recent a solo exhibition of the work of painter Hung Liu at the Sanchez Art Center, Pacifica, California. |
