About the Artists-

Charles "Chuck" Splady

Artist Statement:

"My artistic journey revolves around a deep attachment to the historical evolution of metals.

Engaging with me unveils insights into history, the creative process, and the universal nature of art. As a sculptor, I'm not merely crafting art; I'm participating in a dialogue with those who came before me. The metals I manipulate have undergone numerous incarnations—from raw materials in the earth to tools, building materials, weaponry, and various artistic creations. Each incarnation represents a manipulation of the metal by individuals who preceded me, making me feel a profound connection to my artistic predecessors. Conversations with me provide insights into history, the creative process, and the universal nature of art, transcending temporal and geographic boundaries.

My sculptures serve as reminders of history, inviting contemplation of the threads that connect us to the past. My work signifies the enduring power of art to transcend time and resonate across generations, creating a visual narrative that speaks to the universal human experience. Currently, I continue my exploration of metal's journey and legacy, intertwining the past with the present to create timeless expressions that resonate with viewers across diverse backgrounds and perspectives."

-Chuck Splady

Alexander Yoshikawa

Artist Statement:

"My art explores the space between the tangible and the intangible, from sculpted bronze to the mysteries of perception and existence. Driven by a desire to understand the connection between reality and the unseen, my sculptures invite introspection and transformation.

Each piece poses questions about the human experience: How do we navigate our lives? How does our perception shape reality? How can we discover our true selves?

My sculptures aim to spark self-discovery and encourage individuals to shape their own realities. They invite viewers to explore their perceptions and embark on personal journeys of transformation. "

-Alexander Yoshikawa
