Second Sunday Studio Visit- Marguerite Elliot

Join us in March for our first Second Sunday Studio Visit of 2026 in the studio of PRS Board Member and sculptor Marguerite Elliot.

Get an intimate look at her practice, process, and creative space, as well as a chance to see 16 of her large scale public art sculptures, including two  installations, before they are shipped to a museum in Virginia for a solo exhibition this May. Currently installed in her sculpture yard in front of her studio in rural Petaluma, this is a rare opportunity to experience the full body of work together in the landscape where it was created.

These large scale public artworks reflect resilience, renewal, and the deep interconnectedness of nature and humanity. Rooted in a reverence for the natural world, her work is both a celebration of its beauty and a quiet call to protect and restore what is increasingly fragile.

RSVPs are strongly encouraged so the artist can prepare and accommodate everyone.

To learn more about Marguerite and her work head to her website https://www.margueriteelliot.com/ or Instagram https://www.instagram.com/marguerite101/

Marguerite Elliot, 'California Sentinel: Eco-warrior,'
Steel, 23K Gold Leaf, Paint, Wire, 144 x 36 x 24"

"As an artist, I work with steel and natural objects such as seedpods, leaves, and small stones. Although the intense heat of my welding torch transforms the steel, melting and bending it, even steel is transitory, eventually rusting away to nothing.

Concerned with the current environmental destruction, loss of species, and irrevocable environmental changes taking place all over the world, my work functions as both a reliquary and a shrine, to what is lost or soon may be lost."

Directions to her studio- 1814 Skillman Ln Petaluma, CA 94952

Turn right on Skillman when you see the green sign for the Petaluma Riding Club. Stay to the left where there is a fork in the bumpy road. Do not turn down small driveways on the left even when you see the 1814 sign. Keep going around a big bend and you will see a big barn with some sculptures in front. That’s my studio. The gate will be open. You can also park along the fence by my studio.
