Michael would like to invite you, PRS members and arts community,  to visit his 3000 square foot art studio in Sebastopol, which he completed in 2024. His studio was constructed to be fire safe, sound proof, and environmentally friendly. Michael created the space so that the can work any time day or night without disturbing the neighbors. It is always amazing to see how others set up their creative spaces and what the site does to motivate or sustain them as an artist. Featured is a large CNC router, which Michael uses extensively in his practice.

About the Artist:

Michael McGinnis is an art educator at Santa Rosa Junior College, and has taught sculpture and design for 38 years. He is a sculptor, exhibit designer, and game inventor. His interactive artworks are at museums and in collections around the world. He has designed and fabricated interactive exhibits locally for CMOSC (the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County), and for CMSM (the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center). Michael’s award-winning series of dexterity games, known as Perplexus have won dozens of international awards, including "Game of The Year", and "Art and Design Visuals of the Year”. He has been creating his 3-dimensional games since high school, and continues to create to this day. His latest release includes “Perplexus Madnalorian” (also known as Rubik’s Tracks Mandalorian). Locally, his permanent public sculptural works can be seen on the Sebastopol Library building, and on the SRJC campus.
