PRS NEWS -- February 1, 2023

From the Newsletter Editor

We mentioned last month that PRS members can announce calls-for-entry, shows, workshops, available materials, equipment, studio spaces, other opportunities or needs through PRS's Facebook presence at this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/pacrimsculptors.

Another way to communicate is our Google Group email list, which allows you to send and receive messages with other PRS members:  Go to groups.google.com/g/pacificrimsculptors and request to join. Thereafter, you can send emails to pacificrimsculptors@googlegroups.com and other members will receive them. It is a great way to connect with other sculptors about resources, needs, and opportunities; check it out!

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Richard Alpert and Eileen Fitz-Faulkner are working with the Communications Committee for a PRS podcast using Anchor. Their planned trial episode will be an informal interview with a PRS member, conversing about general art issues. Richard and Eileen expect to present the sample podcast to the Communications Committee in March, 2023. We hope PRS members will find this an exciting idea and support it. Volunteers interested in helping develop the PRS Podcast can email Richard Alpert for information.

The PRS Communications Committee explores ways to improve our newsletter, website, social media, and more. Consider volunteering your time and talents!

Thank you to all,

We encourage PRS members to tour SFMOMA on the second Thursday of each month. If you want to meet other PRS members, we suggest you gather at 4:30 PM on the second floor at the large stairway leading up to the third floor. This is a recurring, informal event; you are welcome to start earlier, or later, and perhaps to check out other nearby exhibitions or dining opportunities.

Is social media a mystery to you, or do you want to use it better to promote your art? Watch for an upcoming live Zoom event on Social Media for PRS members.
