From the President
Happy Holidays members- As we enter a new year, please consider volunteering on a committee or the board. We need more member involvement as a volunteer-run organization. The exhibitions committee needs more help finding the exhibit opportunities we love participating in. And the communications committee needs help getting the monthly newsletter out. Many hands make little work. Also - please donate to our annual fund drive https://pacificrimsculptors.org/Donate. Your funds permit us to continue offering exhibition opportunities, member meetups, and administrative support! It was great seeing SFMOMA with the members who joined us on the 11/4 meetup. Last thing- we need to increase our membership fees for the first time since 2017. For the Regular Membership level, annual fees will increase by $10. Beginning 1/1/24 on your next billing cycle your new membership fee will be $50/annually. Thank you for your support and membership, and wishing you a happy and healthy New Year. This piece's major structural components are two trays, two picture frames, a dish rack, a diamond-shaped 9-ball billiards rack and, of course, two canes. Among other items, this assemblage also includes a banana (in the upper left, rear), a train whistle, a back scratcher, two ducks, one goose, two snakes, a toucan, a giraffe, a mousetrap, a zipper, and a trombone kazoo. The sculpture is topped by a molinillo (Mexican wooden whisk) that was solicited from and donated by the artist's girlfriend's sister.
Susannah Israel’s work is included in the Exhibition REVEAL, Recent Acquisitions at the American Museum of Ceramic Art. The exhibition showcases a remarkable variety of ceramics that AMOCA has recently acquired for its permanent collection. Juried by Kathy King, the exhibit reveals previously unseen works from a diverse range of form, styles, and techniques, highlighting contemporary movements in ceramic art. The show runs Oct 28, 2023 – July 21, 2024, at AMOCA, 399 N Garey Ave, Pomona, CA 91767, Tel: 909-865-3146.

Jane Ingram AllenThe collaborative installation artwork of PRS member Jane Ingram Allen and Jami Taback is included in an exhibition in Taiwan titled Water Says, curated by Iris Hung, at Live Forever Foundation Gallery, Taichung, Taiwan, Dec. 1, 2023, to March 2, 2024. Allen and Taback are in Taiwan from Nov. 23 - Dec. 4, 2023 for the site-specific installation of their work that involves hand papermaking and printmaking and includes 36 panels suspended from the ceiling in the gallery filled with natural light.
