PRS NEWS -- February 2024

From the President

I hope 2024 is going well for you. I’m already noticing the longer days and excited for two PRS exhibitions already at Museum of Sonoma County and She/They at the Santa Cruz Art League. Our exhibitions committee has worked overtime to make this happen! Big thank you to Catherine Daley and Lynn Todaro for their shepherding these amazing exhibitions.

A new year brings new opportunities to help PRS. We have three board positions to fill and always need help getting our newsletter out and networking to develop exhibition opportunities. Please reach out to the new Exhibitions Committee chair Dave Kwinter ( or Briona Hendren about the Communications Committee ( Board members help plan where our organization is headed and steps to get there - and it’s a great way to network.

Please reach out to me if you have questions or would like to speak -

I look forward to seeing you at a PRS exhibition soon!

A big thank you to the Exhibitions Committee for coordinating this amazing exhibition, participating artists for making the show so diverse and everyone who came to show support. we appreciate all of you!

In case you missed the reception the museum will be releasing a number of dates released for events including artist talks, and even sculpture demos on International Sculpture Day!

Info about the exhibition: “A Question of Balance: Selected Works from Pacific Rim Sculptors.” Artworks for the exhibition were selected by jurors Jeff Nathanson (MSC) and Kate Eilertsen (Di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art). Artists used their own interpretations in materials, techniques, subject matter, or a combination of concepts to address the theme of balance. The resulting exhibition features 45 sculptors representing a diverse range of approaches, techniques, and materials.
