Message from the PRS Board PresidentAs the days shorten and we approach the holiday season, on behalf of the PRS Board, I extend a warm greeting and a reminder of how important it is to support the arts in all the ways we can. Consider joining a committee or the board, identifying a venue for an exhibition, hosting an event, or making a donation. Together, we keep sculpture alive. In a world where the arts are increasingly under siege, every gesture of support becomes an act of courage and a spark of light. Pacific Rim Sculptors was founded on a simple, powerful belief that cultural vitality and artistic diversity are the heartbeat of a healthy society. Through exhibitions, education, and outreach, our members bring sculpture into public life and nurture the creative voices that sustain our shared humanity. This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to stand with us. Your support ensures that art continues to challenge, connect, and inspire in our studios, our communities, and our hearts. Recently, PRS board members Susan Amorde, Briona Hendren, and I attended the International Sculpture Conference in Dallas, where southern hospitality met a thriving arts community. The program featured public art tours, studio visits, and inspiring talks by artists James Surls and Sedrick and Letitia Huckaby, founders of the community art space Kinfolk House. The conference was an energizing experience full of new connections, renewed friendships, and exciting opportunities for PRS. We encourage you to join us at next year’s conference (details coming soon). There is even talk of a chapter exhibition. Also in attendance was longtime PRS member Jerry Barrish and his wife, painter Nancy Barrish. Warm regards,
Catherine Daley, Susan Amorde, and Briona Hendren at the opening reception of the 31st International Sculpture Conference in Dallas, Texas |
