Art Inspired by Travel showcases the works of artists who are inspired by travel. Traveling, whether locally or afar can be inspirational, memorable, and life-changing. Travel can foster cultural awareness, tolerance, and a deeper appreciation for the hidden beauty within our world. This is an open-call for sculptors of Pacific Rim to submit images of up to three artworks for consideration by juror & curator Robert Melton, organized by Pacific Rim Sculptors, a chapter of the International Sculpture Center.
Opening Reception: Friday, September 30, 2022, 4:30 - 8:30 pm
The exhibition will take place from September 30, 2022 to February 17, 2023 at the renowned Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco.
ROBERT MELTON is the Outreach Coordinator / Curator for de Young College Arts Program, a freelance curator and community events art organizer. He is the founder and executive director for Nexus ArtReach Art Collective. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies and Art History and a Master's degree in Museum Studies with emphasis on curatorship and public programming from San Francisco State University. Melton has curated a variety of art exhibitions and events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area including the recent Sculpture of the Pacific Rim at the Commonwealth Club.
